Every day Americans traveling abroad become seriously
ill or injured and need to be air evacuated to receive quality medical
attention. Any illness or accident can become life threatening in the
absence of modern medical care, especially in many remote or undeveloped

Exclusions and Limitations1. Assistance Company shall not provide services enumerated if the coverage is sought as a result of: suicide or attempted suicide; intentionally self-inflicted injuries; participation in any war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities between nations (whether declared or not) or civil war, rebellion, revolution, and insurrection, military or usurped power; participation in any military maneuver or training exercise; traveling against the advice of a physician; traveling for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment; traveling in any country in which the U.S. State Department issued travel restrictions; piloting or learning to pilot or acting as a member of the crew of any aircraft; mental or emotional disorders, unless hospitalized; being under the influence of drugs or intoxicants unless prescribed by a physician; commission or the attempt to commit a criminal act; participation as a professional in athletics or underwater activities; participating in bodily contact sports; skydiving; hang gliding; parachuting; mountaineering or rock climbing necessitating the use of guides or ropes; any race; bungee cord jumping; and speed contest; spelunking or caving, skydiving, parachuting, ballooning, hand gliding, deep sea diving utilizing hard helmet with air hose attachment, racing of any kind other than on foot, bungee jumping, operating a vehicle when not properly licensed, or participating in professional sports unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the plan prior to your being covered under this benefit; psychiatric, psychological or emotional disorders; incidental expenses but not limited to accommodations, local transportation, meals, telephone and facsimile charges; subsequent evacuations for the same or related medical condition, regardless of location; or services not otherwise shown as covered in the plan, heliskiing, extreme skiing, dental treatment except as a result of accidental injury to sound, natural teeth; any non-emergency treatment or surgery, routine physical examinations, hearing aids, eyeglasses or contact lenses; pregnancy and childbirth (except for complications of pregnancy); curtailment or delayed return for other than covered reasons; services not shown as covered; travel more than 100 miles from your permanent residence, unless in a foreign country, or travel in a foreign location in excess of 90 days for any one trip. 2. The services described above currently are available in every country of the world. Due to political and other situations in certain areas of the world, Assistance Company may not be able to respond in the usual manner. It is your responsibility to inquire whether a country is "open" for assistance prior to your departure and during your stay. Assistance Company also reserves the right to uprising, war, terrorism, labor disturbance, strikes, nuclear accidents, Acts of God or refusal of authorities to permit Assistance Company to fully provide services. 3. If you request a transport related to a condition that has not been deemed medically necessary by a physician designated by Assistance Company in consultation with a local attending physician, or to any condition excluded hereunder, and you agree to be financially responsible for all expenses related to that transport, Assistance Company will arrange for such transport to a medical facility or to your residence and will make such arrangements using the same degree of care and completeness as if the Assistance Company were providing service under this agreement. A waiver of liability will be required prior to arranging these transportation services. All transportation benefits provided hereunder must be by the most direct and economical route possible. For the purposes of this agreement, the following definitions shall apply; "Injury" means identifiable injury caused by an accident. "Accident" means a sudden, unexpected, unusual, specific event, which occurs at an identifiable time and place. "Sickness" means a sickness of the participant declares itself during the period when services are available under this agreement. When the services provided by Assistance Company are covered in whole or in part by an insurance policy or other health insurance plans, Assistance Company shall be subrogated to the rights and causes of action of the person for whom services are rendered against said insurance policy or other insurance plans, except for plans or policies sponsored by the organization or underwritten by the organization. *Travel Assistance is NOT available to residents of Connecticut, Florida, Oregon, and Washington State.THIS IS NOT INSURANCE.
